Andrew Gestrine
Andrew Gestrine serves as the Aviation Safety Officer at the Autonomy Research Institute (ARI), Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. He is responsible for planning, implementing, and coordinating safety and environmental programs and ensures compliance with required regulations, procedures, and policies with primary focus on aviation. He also facilitates the identification of safety and environmental risks and promotes reduction or elimination of potential accidents, occupational injuries, illnesses, deaths, and safety-related financial losses to ARI.
Before joining the Autonomy Research Institute, Andrew was employed in the airport operations industry, serving various airports across the country. In these capacities, he was responsible for overseeing the safety protocols of the airports, managing critical documentation, and ensuring compliance with training and operational standards.
Andrew has earned the Certified Member (C.M.) and Airport Certified Employee – Operations (ACE) accreditations from the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE). With over seven years of experience in the aviation industry, he holds both an FAA private pilot license and a UAS Part 107 license.
An alumnus of Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, Andrew obtained a bachelor's degree in Aviation Management.
