Seth Moran

Seth Moran Seth joined Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and the Autonomy Research Institute (ARI) as an Airspace Manager in May of 2023. He is responsible for preventing mutual interference from all users of the airspace, facilitating airspace use, identification, and accommodating the safe flow of all manned or unmanned air traffic. Additionally, Seth advises ARI leadership on analysis and development of airspace policies and regulations enabling the integration of UAS into the NAS. His area of focus is Emergency Management; however, he is utilized across all sections within the organization.

Before joining ARI, Seth worked as an Operations Specialist for the City of Corpus Christi at the Corpus Christi International Airport. Prior to that, he worked in operations and maintenance at the Appleton International Airport in northeastern Wisconsin.

In total, Seth has over 12 years of aviation experience. He has an FAA UAS Part 107 certificate in addition to being an instrument rated commercial pilot in both single and multi-engine airplanes. He is also a Certified Flight Instructor and Ground Instructor. Seth holds an ACE designation from the American Association of Airport Executives.

In 2019, Seth earned a BS in Professional Aviation from Louisiana Tech. While there, he was employed as a flight instructor where he taught students pursuing their private, instrument, commercial, and flight instructor certificates.

Seth and his wife Shelbi are native Texans. They reside in the Coastal Bend.
