Testing Information

The Disability Services Office (DS) works hard to ensure that appropriate testing accommodations are provided for students who are eligible for services. We want your exam/quiz experience to be smooth and efficient with minimal disruption. In order to do so and continue to maintain the integrity of Exam Services and the exams/quizzes being administered, we have implemented the following rules for all users of Exam Services.

Students must schedule exams a minimum of three days before exam date to ensure space is available.
Bring only what you need with you for the exam.
You must bring your own pencil, pen, paper, earphones, and calculator.
You will be provided a locker for personal belongings. You will be provided instructions on how to access and secure the locker.
Due to limited space availability students may be required to schedule exams on an alternate date/time, with faculty permission.

Be sure to talk with your instructors at the beginning of each semester regarding the Testing Agreement. Instructors are responsible for submitting the Testing Agreement.

Login to AIM using your Island ID. Before you can check your AIM information, please read entirely any forms in “Required Forms” section. Then, type your name in the signature box and “submit”.
Click “Alternative Testing”
- Select the course(s) for which you would like to schedule exams/quizzes in Exam Services.
- Click: “Add Alternative Testing Exam”
- Enter Type: Quiz, exam, mid-term, final
- Enter date: (ideal notice of 2 business day notice in Summer, 3 business days notice in Fall/Spring semesters).
- Enter time: Choose class time for start time unless you and the instructor have agreed on an alternate start time.
Click: “Accommodations” Choose the accommodations you want to use for the exam.
- Click: "Add Exam Request”

Congratulations! At the top of the screen you will see: "System Update Successful."

If a student in your course requests exam accommodations, two options are available:

The student can schedule tests in Exam Services or
You can provide these accommodations yourself.

For exams in Exam Services, the students will use the Disability Services AIM online database system to schedule their exams. You will receive a Faculty Notification Letter via email which will have a link for the Testing Agreement.

Reminder: each course and section number will have a unique Testing Agreement link within the digital version of the FNL.

We ask you complete the Testing Agreement so that exams will be administered according to your directions. This link is specific to the student’s class section, and only one Testing Agreement per section is needed for each semester. If you have more than one student requesting exam accommodations in a section, you need only complete the Testing Agreement once.

Your private contact information will not be shared with the student. Exam Services staff will contact you should there be any questions during an exam.

Before students can schedule exams, they are required to read and acknowledge the Exam Services Test Rules.

When a student schedules an exam or makes changes to a scheduled exam, you will receive an email notification. Please check that the exam is for the correct date/time.

For online exams which do not require a proctor, please confirm with the student that their extended time has been properly adjusted. No Testing Agreement is needed.

For extenuating circumstances, Exam Services will pick up the day before the scheduled exam.
