Facilities

Our department receives funding only for the maintenance and repair of University building infrastructure, grounds, and support systems in Educational and General (E&G) space. Some examples of facilities funded services include:

• Building Maintenance and Operations (replace ceiling tiles, surplus items to Central Receiving)
• Building exterior including gutters, roofs, windows and doors and associated hardware
• Housekeeping for Educational and General facilities (classrooms, offices, common areas, etc.)
• Water Service and domestic water distribution system including water fountains and restroom fixtures
• Electrical Service and distribution system including light fixtures, outlets, switches and circuit breakers
• Grounds Maintenance (care of lawns, trees and shrubs)
• Elevators and chairlifts
• HVAC Systems in support of comfort heating/cooling
• Utilities: electrical, water, natural gas and sewer systems
• Sidewalks/steps/handrails
• Energy Management
• Pest Control services

Maintenance and repair of department-owned equipment is charged to the requesting department. Any services provided in Auxiliary spaces will also be billable to the owners of the building or space. Some examples of billable services include:

• Event Support
• Vehicle and Specialized Equipment Maintenance (golf cart batteries, tire replacements, fuel,refrigerators, microwaves, freezers, fume hoods, etc.)
• Moves and Deliveries (except to Surplus)
• Engineering, Construction (renovations, improvements, alterations and new construction) and Project Management Services 
• Auxiliary Unit maintenance and repair requests (University Services, Athletics, Housing, etc.)
• Specialized filtration systems (HEPA filtration)
• Redundant water heaters in support of departmental needs
• Movable furniture
• Departmental specific security systems
• Decorative plants
• Paint and flooring when part of a customer requested renovation/remodel project
• Asbestos abatement when part of a customer requested renovation/remodel project
