Special Interest Housing

Islander Housing offers multiple Special Interest Housing opportunities! These residential options are located throughout both properties at Miramar and Momentum Village and create opportunities for students with common interests to have fun, learn, and live together. Please review the list below for information about all our options.

Special Interest Housing Options!

Honors 
In the Honors Community, students can live with others who have been accepted into the Honors program on the Island. The Honors community is in Port Hall at Miramar which features mostly suite-style residence hall rooms with a small number of private residence hall rooms. Once accepted into the program, students will be extended an invitation to join the Honors Community. If you have been invited and are interested in this community, please choose the Miramar RH Suite floor plan when completing your application.

Pre-Nursing
The Nursing and Health Sciences community is a created for students majoring in pre-nursing and health. In this community, residents can get to know other students in their major. The Nursing and Health Sciences is in Harbor Hall at Miramar. Harbor Hall features mostly extra space residence hall rooms with a small number of private residence hall rooms. If you are majoring in Pre-Nursing or Health Sciences and are interested in this community, please choose the Miramar RH Suite floor plan when completing your application.

Texas Leadership Scholars Program
Texas Leadership Scholars Program (TLSP) is a state-wide leadership program aimed at guiding Texas high school graduates to develop their leadership skills and continue their education at a public Texas university. Cohorts of students are connected with peer and professional networks and mentors, participate in unique leadership development programs, and receive opportunities for undergraduate research and study abroad options. TLSP students are required to live in designated housing at Miramar for their first two years. Applications for this program are available upon nomination by a high school staff member during their senior year. Graduate/25+ Students
Students who are graduate program enrollees and/or individuals aged 25 and above can reside in Momentum Village Building 9, featuring 4-bedroom, 4-bathroom apartments. This intimate community creates a mature and focused environment within the living space. If you fit these qualifications and are interested in this themed housing, please choose the Graduate or 25+ when completing your application.

All Gender Housing (AGH) 
Students seeking a housing assignment with roommates can voluntarily opt into All Gender Housing (AGH) during the housing application process. In AGH housing residents may be of any gender expression. To obtain more information about AGH, please email housing@tamucc.edu
