Creative Writing Program

This minor is for students who have a desire to cultivate their own creative writing skills. Students of all majors are welcome to explore the range of transnational, inclusive, and diverse fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, and genre-blending forms. From East to West, we explore and practice innovative techniques in narrative form dating as far back as the Arabian ghazals and Murasaki Shikibu’s Tale of Genji to the blazing urgent forefront from writers, such as Natalie Diaz, Danez Smith, Meredith Talusan, Ocean Vuong, and Colson Whitehead, et al.
