Kinesiology, MS
The award-winning Master of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sport and Exercise Science is a STEM certified program designed to prepare professionals in the multi-faceted disciplines of athletic performance, strength and conditioning, sport coaching, fitness, and allied health. These disciplines include the application and in-depth study of biomechanics, sport physiology, strength and conditioning, motor performance, sport nutrition, athletic testing, and sport psychology. Thus, a major purpose of this program is to bridge the gap between the science and application of sports performance, as well as preparation for advanced research (e.g., Ph.D.). The program is internationally recognized by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and is fully accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Strength and Conditioning Education (CASCE). The program features a vibrant community of scholars that are nationally and internationally recognized in the areas of sport and exercise science.
TAMU-CC's Educational Program in Strength and Conditioning is internationally recognized by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and is fully accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Strength and Conditioning Education (CASCE).
Program Details
The Master's in Kinesiology is available as either a fully online program or a hybrid face-to-face/online program. Students have the choice of three-degree options:
- Sport and Exercise Science: Non-Thesis/Research Project
- Sport and Exercise Science: Thesis.
- Sport and Exercise Science: Strength and Conditioning
Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi's state-of-the-art Island Hall includes a biomechanics lab, motor development lab, exercise physiology lab, and athletic training center, which provide excellent facilities and equipment for sport and exercise science research.
